Hello all,
We are very pleased to announce the release of our updated A320-X v1.0.1.184 for FSX.
This is an update release for all versions of Flight Simulator X (SP2 / XPack and Steam) which features lots of improvements and fixes over the previous versions and is inline with our promise to provide continuous support on our product line.
We invite everyone to download and install this update as it contains the following very exciting new features and fixes:
Simulation immersiveness
Aircraft Cabin
A lot of work has gone into creating a truly immersive aircraft cabin for our A320-X simulation. Not only has the entire cabin sound set been reworked for this update – we now have several new additions that we think you’ll love:
The first is the ability to hear the cabin safety demonstration taking place during pushback, once the aircraft doors are armed. This can only be heard when inside the cabin. We have prepared 40 different safety demonstrations that can be downloaded and installed from our Downloads section – we encourage users to contribute their own creations to share with others!
Coupled with this, we have also extended functionality of the Cabin Information Display System (CIDS) to integrate with the FWC and display a ‘Cabin Ready’ message on the EWD. Once the passenger safety demonstration has finished, the cabin crew will secure the aircraft for departure. After this short delay (based upon passenger load), the pilot will then receive the ‘Cabin Ready’ memo flash on the EWD (or, if you prefer, the indication can be integrated into the Takeoff and Landing Config as an extended FWC option). It adds another dimension to the simulation: a number of our testers have been caught out at the holding point for departure and have needed to inform ATC that they’re ‘still waiting for the cabin’!
Of course, this logic also applies to landing – so make sure you get those seat belt signs on at least 10 minutes before landing so that the cabin crew have time to secure the cabin!
We have added cabin lighting to our models – and this is also linked into the CIDS so that the lighting is controlled automatically for any given phase of the flight. The lighting will dim once the cabin is secure and be restored after departure and engine shut down at the gate.
Aircraft Lighting / Low Visibility effects
We’ve added low visibility lighting effects to our aircraft that display in low visibility conditions at dusk/dawn and night. When the aircraft is in fog, or even when flying through dense cloud – you’ll see the landing light beams project in front of the aircraft, as well as the glare from the strobes, navigation lights and beacon.
Electronic Flight Control System (EFCS) – Flare Law
We have refined Flare Law based on input from A320 pilots and algorithms from the Elevator and Aileron Computers. The results now depict a true-to-life rendition of the systems characteristics during the landing phase.
ATSU implementation
We recognized some short-comings with our existing AOC Service logic and have taken major steps to improve it by overhauling the logic entirely. In our updated version, the pilot can import and use flight plans from several different sources, such as:
– FSX default .pln format (and P3D once available)
– Simbrief OFP / LIDO format (.pdf / .txt files)
– PFPX OFP format (.pdf / .txt files)
Through the new ATSU system, the pilot can now acquire and read ATIS messages from VATSIM or IVAO connections and those messages are displayed in the MCDU for convenience.
The same can be done for METAR reports, which are now available through the revamped AOC Service and can be requested from various sources, such as Active Sky 2016 / ASN, VATSIM, IVAO or NOAA and displayed in MCDU through the ATSU system.

We are continuing our work towards our first Service Pack, our plan so far is to incorporate important missing functionality, such as Detailed Winds and Secondary Flight Plan (for example) and also improve further the braking and steering issues when no hardware rudder pedals are available. We expect this new functionality to be delivered after we release our Prepar3D version which is currently undergoing final rounds of beta testing.
